SUMMARY:

Electromyography is a tool widely used in clinical practice to assess and treat
pelvic floor dysfunction in women during the pregnancy-puerperium cycle. The
aim of the research was to analyze the scientific evidence on the
electromyographic parameters used for the treatment of pelvic floor
dysfunctions in pregnant women at any gestational age and postpartum women
up to 12 months after delivery. The research is characterized as a review
protocol. The search for selected articles was carried out in online databases
(Scopus, Medline, Pedro, Scielo and Pubmed) of randomized controlled
experimental studies and quasi-experimental studies that used
electromyography as an intervention for the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction
in women during pregnancy or in the postpartum period up to 12 months after
delivery. The risk of bias will be assessed using the tools of the Cochrane
group. The Rob 2.0 tool will be used for experimental studies and the Robins-I
tool for non-experimental studies. The quality of the evidence will be analyzed
using the GRADE System Methodological Guide and the structure of the
systematic review will be carried out in accordance with the Preferred Reporting
Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) Guideline.
