Social movements; Contentious politics; Collective Action; Hegemony; Free Brazilian Movement.
The objective of the project is to map the political confrontation between 2014 and 2016, taking as reference the Free Brazil Movement and the main manifestations organized by the group. Analytically, we managed not only to recognize the repertoires drawn up by MBL, but also to trace a historical evolution of the group in the latter period. Specifically, the objective is to understand the process of reorganization of the right, the forms of organization of these groups and also to reflect on the role of the MBL in the struggles for hegemony of civil society. The contentious event, identified here as the cycle of protests carried out by the MBL, is the unit of analysis of this study. Therefore, to achieve the objectives proposed by this project, we will follow three steps for the development of empirical research. Our starting point is the bibliographical review of the terms concerning this thesis. The second step is documentary analysis of the publications, as well as a survey of the news published by the newspapers Folha de São Paulo and O Estado de São Paulo, from 2014 to 2016, about the protests called by the opposition to the then Dilma government. For purposes of interpretive analysis, the material will be coded and categorized according to the techniques of content analysis.
