RESUMO:

It is necessary for contemporary educators to look for strategies that can provide all students with the opportunity to develop capacities that arouse their anxiety in the face of the unknown. It is very important that the teacher inserts the student in the context presented in class, making him explore his creativity, his ability to form opinions, clarify his doubts and structure a new learning knowledge. In this context, the objective of this work was to analyze the process of developing a pedagogical approach, in the light of the concept of Significant Learning, for 7th grade students, involving the study of invertebrate animals. This is a qualitative research involving pedagogical intervention in the classroom. In the methodological course, four groups of seventh year of elementary school were followed, from which documents were obtained, such as: questionnaires (diagnostic and qualitative evaluation); didactic activities for summative evaluation (exploring MCs), and the construction of blogs to publicize the work done. The results found in the research together with the experience lived and built in the development of the research, also supported the elaboration of an educational product called "Dynamics with conceptual maps: didactic recommendations for learning about biological diversity in basic education".
