RESUMO:

This work aims to systematize and evaluate the application of two activities based on the History of Mathematics Education and applied in a class of mathematics teacher training. They were supported on the principle that the educator with historical sense should view the past of the educational process reflected in the present in the form of assumptions, practices, prejudices changes and permanencies, and that teachers should understand the past of mathematics teaching to make the present more intelligible, to question the collective social conscience and to promote and / or cause questions about it. The first activity aimed at a comparative analysis of textbooks of the past and the present and how they dealt well with a specific content (Maximum Common Divisor and Common Multiple Minimum) and the other sought to revisit the procedures involved with the "proof of the nine "Which is no longer part of the school curriculum. The evaluation of these activities was driven by the question: how did didactic activities based on the History of Mathematics Education contribute to the initial or continuing formation of teachers and in their view on teaching mathematics? The research conducted from there was qualitative and exploratory, with the production and application of two didactic sequences containing questions about the contents focused and on students' opinions about their historical changes and permanences observed in them over the years. They were applied in two classes of the History of Mathematics Education course of the degree course in Mathematics of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in the year 2017. For the constitution of the data, the audio recording was performed on the two days that the application occurred , as well as the collection of material. The students' reports considered it essential that the future mathematics teacher understand the way in which the contents are instituted in textbooks of mathematics, in different periods. As an educational product, we propose a small notebook with the activities elaborated, applied and analyzed.
