SUMMARY:

Currently, in addition to the concern with water pollution caused by
untreated effluents and other sources, a class of pollutants that
present in very low concentrations in domestic effluents,
hospitals and industries, with often unknown effects on
people and the environment and no regulated release standards,
has been arousing the interest of researchers, this class is called
emerging contaminants (EC). Among many groups of substances that
components are classified as CE are synthetic food sweeteners
present in soft drinks. That said, the goal of this project is to develop
a photocatalytic material composed of WO 3 on a red ceramic support,
capable of degrading sweeteners and disinfecting wastewater generated in
production of diet and low-calorie soft drinks by photocatalysis
solar heterogeneous. For this, the WO 3 photocatalytic material supported on
red ceramic will be obtained by mixing and firing the raw materials in
optimized concentration and temperature from a composite design
rotational center 2 2 , with 11 experimental conditions, with 4 factorial points,
3 repetitions at the midpoint and 4 axial points and the response variables will be
the degradation of methylene blue and the reduction of effluent contamination
synthetic by E. coli. The material chosen in the optimization characterized how many
to physical, compositional, structural, textural and morphological aspects. The material
chosen will also undergo leaching tests, in which the
loss of WO 3 due to attacks of acidic and alkaline solutions, under agitation.
In addition, the photocatalytic ceramic will be evaluated for the efficiency of
CE removal after successive regeneration cycles. And finally, the material
will be subjected to CE solar decontamination kinetics tests and
microbiological. It is expected to obtain an efficient photocatalytic material in the
removal of chemical and microbiological contaminants, resistant to leaching,
to regeneration cycles and mechanical efforts.
