RESUMO:

Heavy metals occupy an important place among soil contaminants. Acute intoxication can occur in humans or other living organisms due to a high intake of metals. Among these metals, lead and chrome are introduced into the environment by various sources, including car emissions, paint and coatings and industrial waste. As an alternative to solve these threat, techniques are developed in the attempt to extract these contaminants from the soil, being one of them the electrochemical remediation technique, which has been considered promising because it presents an excellent potential for recovery of sites contaminated by heavy metals. In the other hand, adsorption is recognized as an effective and economical method in the removal of metals from wastewater. In this way, the objective of this work is to evaluate the performance of the electrochemical remediation technique coupled to adsorption through the use of cork powder to remove lead and chrome in soils, as well as to treat the effluent generated by the electrocoagulation technique. The profiles of pH, electrical potential, concentration and their variations with time along an electrochemical reactor in a system subjected to constant electric field conditions or current will be studied. In addition, it will also be studied the decontamination system of soil and water integrated to solar panels.
