RESUMO:

The environmental contamination by oil and its derivatives stands out as a problem of self-impact and constant mobilization around the world. A special concern is oily sludge, which accumulates at the bottom of crude oil storage tanks or is generated in water-oil separation systems in the effluent treatment stage (ETS). It is a waste composed of heavy metals, oils and greases, and total hydrocarbons, which prevents their disposal in the environment without prior treatment. This work aims to characterize and determine the composition of petroleum sludge, to obtain
microemulsified systems (MES) and to study the solubilization for treatment of sludge. The residuals were characterized by X-ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and low-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) for petroleum sludge and Fourier transform by infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) for the tannin polyelectrolyte extracted from black acacia bark. From the composition present in the sludge, a determined amount of SME preparation will be evaluated through experimental design, which will be characterized, at room temperature (25 ° C), through the viscosity (Haake Mars Rheometer), particle diameter, zeta potential (Zeta Plus) and thermal stability.
