RESUMO:

Faced with the increase in the generation of water produced by the oil industry, several countries that have activities related to exploration and production also suffer from water shortages. Therefore, efforts are increasingly focused on finding efficient and low-cost treatment methods for the removal of pollutants as a way to supplement their very limited water resources. On the other hand, agricultural irrigation is the main activity consuming water resources. In this way, the use of waste water for agricultural irrigation presents a potential application. In relation to the use of PA for this purpose, nutrient levels are beneficial to agricultural productivity. However, high concentrations of salinity and metals can cause damage to the environment and should receive appropriate treatment to meet the parameters established by regulatory agencies. In this context, the present dissertation aims to verify the influence of the produced water treated by ionic flocculation on seed germination and initial development of lettuce (Lactuca sativa) and sesame seedlings (Sesamum indicum). Synthetic produced water, formulated based on data from a production field of a company operating in the western region of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, was used after previous treatment with 5 different concentrations of surfactant: 300, 350, 400, 450 and 500 ppm. After stabilization of the flakes, the solution was subjected to the flakes formed under a filtration process. The effect of filtration was investigated in the process. Regarding the treatment, the parameters used to evaluate its efficiency were the percentage of removal of metals and oil. In the germination tests, germination (G), first germination test (GPC), germination velocity index (IVG), shoot length (CPA), radicle length (CR), Seedling length (CP) and dry mass (DM). Finally, germination curves for the constituents of PA were plotted for both cultures, aiming to verify the limiting concentrations of these components during the germination. After the AP treatment with the soap base + filtration, it was possible to perceive that the same Removed only bivalent metals, mainly calcium, with removal of up to 40%. In relation to oil, the percentage of removal reached a value greater than 99%. Using only ionic flocculation, only the concentration of 300 ppm of surfactant did not reach the permitted value of TOG by the legislation (20 ppm). On the germination test, the effect of the treated water on the germination of Sesamum indicum presented a significant difference, at a 95% confidence level, mainly in the initial development parameters (CPA, CR, CP and MS). In Lactuca sativa, the parameters in which a significant difference was observed at 95% of confidence were: G, PCG and IVG. The filtration did not present significant difference in the germination test. We can conclude that the present dissertation had the objectives reached and that the methodology employed had a satisfactory performance to describe the behavior of the germination of two cultures to a water produced from the West region of Rio Grande do Norte treated by ionic flocculation.
