RESUMO:

 From the limitations of energy sources, mostly oil derivatives, biodiesel, traditionally produced comes with well-established routes of production such as the transesterification, using conventional heating and homogeneous catalysis. In the search for new technologies in the production of biodiesel, the methods that use alcohol in supercritical conditions have been widely investigated. The following project has aims to investigate the use of inert (glass) in a tubular bed reactor with pressurized ethanol for the production of biodiesel.  In regards to the experiment, the effects of the temperature (300, 350 and 400°C), the volumetric flow rate of the reaction mixture (0,5 and 1 mL/min),  molar ratio of oil to alcohol (1:10 to 1:70) and of the particle size of the inserted material (0,6, 0,85 and 2 mm) under the esters conversion of the reaction were analyzed. Statistical regression models were used to describe the behavior of the variables read. Overall, the results indicated that is essential to consider the variables of temperature, volumetric flow rate and particle size of the material. However, the molar ratio was not relevant. The best conditions for the proposed system were achieved after 8 min of the reaction, as a result of the presence of  glass particles with 0,6 mm in a flow rate of  0,5mL/min,  temperature of 400 °C with 150 bar of pressure, with a molar ratio of 1:40, getting a yield of 98,99%.
